Yes, not your usual depiction of Little Red Riding Hood - I had been watching 'Don't Look Now' and wanted to paint something in the spirit of the end scene.


Also, it's a sad twist on the story of the Grimm fairy tale, where the Little Red Riding Hood little girl was mentally scarred after her run-in with the Big Bad Wolf. As a result, she turns obsessive in hunting down wolves and collecting their skulls in the same basket she had traveled with to visit her Grandmother when she was a little girl, so long ago. The flowers she collected as an innocent girl can be seen rotting in the basket. 'Don't Look Now' is also a tale of obsession, and the use of red in both the movie and the Grimm Fairy tale played a big role in tying this together.
